Meet Team Saunders Tri

Fun, experienced, and all-in on triathlon.

Team Saunders Tri is Caitlin and Tiffany — two athletes brought together by triathlon, storytelling, and a genuine love for the sport and its people. What started as training together and sharing the journey for fun has grown into a brand built on experience, energy, and a commitment to making triathlon feel more welcoming, more human, and a lot more fun.

Our Story

How Team Saunders Tri began.

Team Saunders Tri started long before the name did.

When Caitlin and Tiffany first met, a mutual friend invited Caitlin to join Tiffany’s triathlon relay team. At the time, Tiffany was training for her first full Ironman and Caitlin was training for her first-ever triathlon, a super sprint. From there, they started training together. Caitlin often joined Tiffany for Ironman workouts, except the swimming, and in 2013 she was there to catch Tiffany at the finish line of Ironman Texas.

In October 2014, Caitlin and Tiffany got married on a beach in Kona the morning after spectating and volunteering at the finish line of the Ironman World Championship. Triathlon was already part of their story, their rhythm, and their life together.

Then, in 2015, they crossed the Ironman Texas finish line together for Caitlin’s first full.

But 2018 was the year everything changed.

That year, they both qualified for the Ironman 70.3 World Championship in South Africa after racing Ironman 70.3 Buffalo Springs Lake — a race they had talked themselves out of for years because it was known for being hard, hot, hilly, and windy. It turned out to be one of the biggest rewards of their triathlon journey.

In the lead-up to South Africa, they created the Team Saunders Tri brand almost entirely for fun. It was a creative outlet, a shared identity, and a way to bring their orange energy to races around the world. They started posting their experiences, showing up as themselves, and sharing the journey.

Then something unexpected happened: people started recognizing them.

What began as a fun hobby turned into something bigger. Team Saunders Tri started connecting with athletes from all over the world, and with that came stories from people who felt inspired, motivated, or even encouraged to try triathlon for the first time. That is when it became clear just how powerful this sport — and authentic content within it — can be.

Why We Do This

We love triathlon, but even more than that, we love what this sport can do for people.

We know triathlon can feel intimidating from the outside. It can look expensive, exclusive, and overwhelming. We want Team Saunders Tri to help break down that barrier to entry by showing the sport as it really is: challenging, rewarding, community-driven, and full of unforgettable moments.

We create content for age-group athletes who want real help, honest perspective, and a reminder that triathlon does not have to be taken so seriously that it stops being fun.

At its best, this sport brings people together, and we want Team Saunders Tri to reflect that spirit.

What We Hope You Feel

Connected. Invested. Inspired.

We want people to root for others, believe in what is possible for themselves, and feel motivated to take on their own challenges — whether that is in triathlon or somewhere else in life.

Two athletes. One team. A lot of orange energy.

Caitlin Saunders

Caitlin is the youngster of the team and an athlete with so much potential. She is especially strong on the bike, solid on the run, and still working to crack the code of swimming like so many triathletes are.

More than anything, Caitlin brings joy. She is fun-loving, encouraging, and impossible to miss on race day. Whether she is racing herself or cheering for someone else, she brings energy that lifts the people around her. She is the kind of person who makes the course feel louder, lighter, and more alive.

Tiffany Saunders

Tiffany is the more experienced half of Team Saunders Tri and the strategic brain behind much of the work. She comes from a swimming background and is always pushing to keep improving on the bike and run.

She is the planner, the learner, and the one constantly looking for ways to train smarter and race better. Tiffany helps guide the team’s preparation with a mindset rooted in growth, curiosity, and long-term development. She believes in doing the work, staying grounded, and avoiding the hype of shortcuts, quick fixes, and pay-to-play thinking.

What Makes Team Saunders Tri Different

Built on experience, practical guidance, and personality.

Experience Practical guidance Personality Age-grouper friendly

We are not here to pretend the sport is easy, and we are not here to act like the only stories that matter come from the front of the field. We care deeply about the age-group athlete experience — the nerves, the questions, the breakthroughs, the setbacks, and the joy of doing something hard with people who get it.

We want our content to help people feel more confident, more informed, and more connected to the triathlon community.

At the heart of Team Saunders Tri are two people who are passionate, fun-loving, caring, and deeply supportive — of each other, of the community, and of the journey this sport puts all of us on.

Work With Us

We love working with races, brands, and organizations that believe in authentic storytelling and meaningful community connection.

Whether it is race coverage, course previews, product integration, or content that helps athletes feel seen and supported, we care about creating work that feels useful, honest, and true to the sport.
